Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has published an important notice regarding the cancellation of the recruitment process to previously advertised vacancies. Public notice is published at the official website i.e. cbse.nic.in regarding the cancellation of the recruitment process for 6 different posts. The vacancies for these posts were earlier advertised by the CBSE through Advt No. 01/2017-reg and the recruitment process was initiated as per scheduled. However, now that the CBSE has officially declared it, the specified posts no longer exist and stand canceled.

As per the latest public notice number CBSE/Rectt.Cell/1(79)/2020/258083 dated 21.07.2020 published on the official CBSE website, 06 posts advertised earlier are canceled. These include the posts of Regional Director, Joint Secretary, Superintending Engineer, Assistant Secretary (Vigilance), Assistant Secretary (Legal), and Section Officer (Legal). CBSE has earlier notified the vacancies for these posts through advertisement number 01/2017. The advertisement is available at the aforementioned official website and candidates who applied for these posts can check the cancellation notice and the recruitment advertisement accordingly.
As per advertisement number 01/2017 released by CBSE earlier, vacancies for the aforementioned posts were advertised in addition to various other posts. 01 vacancy was advertised for the post of Regional Director, 03 vacancies were advertised for the post of Joint Secretary, 01 vacancies were advertised for the post of Superintending Engineer, 01 vacancies were advertised for the post of Assistant Secretary (Vigilance), 01 vacancies were advertised for the post of Assistant Secretary (Legal), and 03 vacancies were advertised for the post of Section Officer (Legal). In addition, vacancies for other posts were also advertised in various locations. However, as per the newly released official cancellation notice, the recruitment to these specified positions is now canceled.
CBSE released Advt 01/2020 inviting online applications for various vacancies that included the ones that are now cancelled by the Board. The online application process continued for 30 days following the date of release of the recruitment advertisement in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated 21.10.2017. Eligible candidates to the aforementioned posts and other advertised posts were to be conducted on a deputation basis. Candidates within the age of 56 years and having the specified minimum eligibility conditions in terms of educational & professional qualification and experience were invited to apply for the recruitment in 2017.
In the actual recruitment advertisement 01/2017, CBSE also highlighted the discretionary power of the Board to amend/change/delete/cancel ant of the terms and conditions of recruitment at any stage of the process. In addition, the Board also notified that it reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process in its entirety at any stage for any of the advertised posts without conveying any prior notice or without assigning any reason. On such basis of the discretionary powers held by the Board, it has now cancelled the recruitment to the aforementioned posts.
