Central Board of Secondary Education released a circular on Thursday for the students who are going to appear for the upcoming practical exams. With the circular released, CBSE has cleared up various rumors being spread on social media regarding the postponement of the CBSE board practical exams 2021. Recently, the number of COVID-19 cases have increased and many students and parents are pressuring the board to postpone the practical exams.

In circular, the board has provided information for candidates who cannot appear for the exam due to COVID-19 situation, in case a candidates wants to submit request for change in practical exam center. and more.

For class 10 and 12 students who test positive for COVID-19 or get affected by it, schools will conduct the practical exams later but before June 11. The official notification reads, “If a student is absent in the practical examination because of being COVID positive or any family member – mother, father, brother, and sister, etc – is reported COVID positive, for such students the schools will conduct the practical exams in consultation with the concerned regional officer but latest by June 11, 2021.”

Earlier, in view of COVID-19, CBSE allowed students to change the exam center for practical or theory examination. It came to the notice of the board that students and their families shifted to another city/ country due to the COVID situation. The board had allowed schools to start with the practical exams and activities like project and internal assessments on March 1 and continue till June 11.

CBSE also earlier asked the schools to immediately upload correct marks after the practical exams and assessments are over. However, in case the schools re-conduct the practical exams, marks of such candidates must be sent to the concerned Regional Offices through manual award lists.

The board is conducting the theory examinations for classes 10 and 12 in May-June. As per the revised schedule released, CBSE class 10th examination is going to take place from May 4 to June 7, whereas, class 12 board exams are going to be held from May 4 to June 14.
