The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad is most likely to hold the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021. Reportedly, Professor M.P. Ram Mohan, faculty at IIM Ahmedabad has been appointed as the convenor of the CAT exam 2021.
IIM Ahmedabad is expected to confirm IIM and convenor by June end, or in first week of July. And then publish CAT 2021 notification in the last week of July. As of now, no final announcement for the conducting body and CAT exam is made.
Last year’s CAT exam timeline was as follows
Last year, the organizing IIM was announced on June 24 wherein Indian Institute of Management, Indore was entrusted with the responsibility to conduct CAT exam. In the next month on July 16, the director of IIM Indore, Professor Harshal Lowalekar (the Faculty for Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques department) was announced as the convenor of the exam. A few days after, on July 29, IIM Indore launched the official website for CAT. The notification was released on July 30.
Online registrations for CAT was open from August 05 to September 23. The national level MBA entrance exam was scheduled for November 29. The admit cards were published a month before the exam date, on October 28. The results were declared on the website on January 02 in the next calendar year.
CAT notification release dates in the past
The notifications for the CAT exam are usually published a week before the online registration. For CAT 2020, IIM Indore released the notification on July 29, 2020. IIM Kozhikode published CAT 2019 notification on July 26, 2019. CAT 2018 notification was out on July 28, 2021. The detailed advertisement for CAT 2017 was issued on July 30, 2017, on the website whereas CAT 2016 was out on July 31, 2016.
One can thus expect confirmation on organizing IIM and convenor by end of June. Then CAT 2021 notification is likely to release in the last week of July. The registrations shall commence from the first week of August 2021. Eligible candidates will be given more than a month to register for CAT 2021. The last date to apply is expected in September 2021. As per the reports, the CAT 2021 exam date will be November 28, 2021. The call letters will be released in October 2021 on the official website.
Moreover, the Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national level exam for admission in MBA, PGP in Management, and Doctoral Program in Management. Aspirants who have bachelor’s degrees are eligible to appear for the CBT exam. In the test, either 76 or 100 questions are asked. Candidates get 02 or 03 hours to attempt the question paper. Candidates should start their preparations with the syllabus and exam pattern. The best way to crack the CAT exam is to refer the CAT mock test and the previous year papers.
Furthermore, the online registration for MAH MBA CET 2021 has started yesterday at mba2021.mahacet.org. Aspirants willing to take admission in MBA courses of Maharashtra state can apply before the last date. Also, IIM Rohtak has recently announced the IPMAT 2021 Exam date as July 17, 2021.
