IIM Kozhikode is starting the Common Admission Test 2019 Registration Process in 6 days, i.e., from August 07, 2019. The registration commences from 10 AM and the aspirants can fill the application form until September 18, 2019, until 5:00 PM. After registering at CAT 2019 official website, iimcat.ac.in, the students can proceed to fill the CAT 2019 Application Form.
Aspirants get a window of 43 days to be exact to register at the website, fill the application form, upload the documents needed and pay the application fee. This year too the CAT 2019 Application Fee is Rs. 950/- (for SC, ST, PwD category candidates) and Rs. 1900/- for the other category candidates. The exam will be held in CBT mode across 156 cities on November 24, 2019.
Here is the simplified process to apply for CAT 2019:
#1 Candidates need to register first to access the CAT Application Form. To do so, candidates will have to open the link to the official website of CAT 2019. Next, you will have to click on the ‘Register’ button under the New Candidate Registration header.

The Registration form window will appear where you will have to enter details like the Name of Candidate, Date of Birth, Email Address, and Mobile Number.

To complete the registration process, click on the ‘Generate OTP’ button. Next, you will be redirected to CAPTCHA where you will have to fill in the OTP received on your mobile number and submit it for verification. After verification, you will be able to submit the registration form. You will receive the Password on your mobile number and the Email ID on your email address.
#2 After registration, candidates will be able to fill in the Application form for CAT 2019 using the system generated Password and email Id on the website. After logging in, you will be directed to the Applicant Detail page. The page will display Applicant’s personal details. Candidates are supposed to click on the link ‘Go to Application Form’ next to the personal details. You will be directed to the application page where you will have to enter the credentials. Note that the applicants can fill the form in more than one session. They can save the current session and login later to complete the Application form. There are 5 sections in the application form –
Section 1: In the application form, fill in the first section, Personal Details:
Details to be filled in this section are Father’s/ Husband’s/ Guardian’s/ Mother’s Name as applicable. After that, select your Category and Nationality. Next, fill in your Communication Address, Emergency Contact Details and upload all the necessary documents. The documents shall include the passport size photo and signature and caste certificate.
Section 2: Move on to the second section, Academic Qualification.
Under this section, candidates are expected to fill in the SSC/10th/Equivalent Details, HSC/12th/Equivalent/ Diploma course Details, Bachelor’s Degree Details, Master’s Degree Details, and Other professional Degree Details. Originals of all marksheets will be required at the time of the interview. Click on ‘Save and Continue’ to proceed to the next section.
Section 3: Next section is Work Experience where candidates (with the said experience) will have to fill in their experience in completed months as on July 31, 2019.
Section 4: The next section requires selecting any number of Programme Names. Select the Programme and the Interview City for that programme as per stated in the list.
Section 5: In the next section, select any 4 Test Cities out of which 1 Test City will be allotted to you after the last date of registration.
#3 The next and the last step is Payment. Candidates under the General/ EWS/ NC-OBC will be charged Rs. 1900 and candidates under SC/ ST/ PwD category will be charged Rs. 900 to appear for CAT 2019. After selecting the payment mode, the respective payment gateway will be enabled for you. Before making the payment, preview the application form for accuracy.
#4 A confirmation email will be sent to you stating the successful submission of your CAT 2019 Application within a few minutes. The email may also contain communication on additional details like the Admit Card download window.
Common Admission Test (CAT) is held by one of IIMs every year for admission in MBA/PGPM courses. CAT scores is also accepted by many B-schools of the nation and a few foreign nations too. Last year in CAT, 2,40,338 candidates had applied and 2,09,405 had appeared to take the exam. In CAT candidates are judged on their Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension skills, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning skills and their Quantitative Ability.
