Today marks the last day to apply for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2019. Earlier the deadline to fill the form was September 18. IIM Kozhikode had extended the deadline until today, i.e September 25, 2019. Candidates are left with only today to fill the form at iimcat.ac.in after which IIM Kozikode will directly release the admit cards from October 23, 2019.
Candidates need to go the official website and click on ‘Register’ button. On clicking it, candidates have to enter few basic details of their name, date of birth, email address, country and mobile number and click on ‘Generate OTP’. The OTP will be sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number and email id. After that login with the same and fill the form.
The registration was started on August 7, 2019. Last year, the registration deadline was extended twice. However subject matter experts recommend that MBA / PGDM aspirants must not wait for further extensions, as it may or may not happen, and apply at the earliest. Recently, IIMK has also released the percentile score calculation method at iimcat.ac.in.
During the application process, candidates need to upload the a scanned photograph of 30 mm x 45 mm and a scanned signature of 80 mm x 35 mm in a jog / jpeg format. The photograph should be clear enough and more than 70 % of the face should be visible. The signature should be written in a plain white sheet without using of all caps.
The details to be filled in CAT application form includes – personal details (name of father, husband, guardian, name of mother, gender, nationality, persons with disability), communication address (temporary address and permanent address), emergency contact details, academic details (class 10 aggregate marks, class 12 aggregate marks, bachelors degree details, work experience). After that candidates have to select their preferred course choice in IIMs and choose any four exam center.
The last step is to pay the application fee. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD have to remit Rs 950 as an application fee while the other category candidates have to remit Rs 1900. The amount have to be submitted online with the help of net banking, credit card, debit card, cash card wallet, UPI.
National level MBA entrance exam, CAT 2019, is scheduled to be conducted on November 24, 2019. It will be a computer based test (CBT) of 3 hours. There are 3 sections – Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability. Each question will carry 3 marks and 1 marks will be deducted for any incorrect answer.
CAT 2019 will be held across all the states of India – Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi NCR, Goa, Guajrat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Puducherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telengana, Uttar Pradesh, uttarakhand and West Bengal.
