The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2019 Notification is out on July 28, 2019. The candidates can check the CAT Notification in the newspapers or in the website, iimcat.ac.in. The website is also being made live on July 28, 2019. On the website the candidates can check the details on eligibility, application process, instructions for the exam.
As per the notification, IIM Kozhikode will conduct CAT 2019 on November 24, 2019. The registration for which starts from August 07, 2019 at 10 AM. The CAT 2019 Registration window will remain open for a period of 43 days, until September 18, 2019, 5:00 PM. The mode of application is online only. The candidates have to register first and then fill in the CAT Application Form.

The payment of the application fee is also to be done in the online mode using the online payment systems like net banking, or credit/debit card. The application fee for CAT 2019 is same as last year that is Rs.950/- for SC,ST and PwD candidates and Rs. 1900/- for all other category candidates.

CAT 2019 exam is scheduled to be held across 156 cities. The candidates can enter the choice of their 4 exam cities in the CAT application form itself. The choices entered must be in the order of preference. The authorities assign the exam center to the candidates in the first city of their choices mostly.
CAT 2019 will be held in 2 sessions. The session timing is not available in the notification, but as per the previous year’s exam the timings can be 9 AM to 12 Noon and then from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
The candidates can not select their preferred session. It is allotted to the candidates randomly by the exam conducting body. The allotted exam center and the session will be communicated to the candidates via the CAT Admit Card that will be available for download from October 23, 2019. The candidates can download their admit card until the day of the exam.
The exam pattern of CAT 2019 is the same as the previous years. The exam pattern has not witnessed any changes since 2015. There will be 3 sections in the exam –
Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
Section III: Quantitative Ability
The number of questions in each of these sections varies every year, however. The marking scheme though remains the same. The candidates get 3 marks for a correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for a wrong answer.
Also, the aspirants will get to face 2 types of question in CAT 2019. TITA (Type In The Answer) type questions and the MCQ type of questions. The MCQ type of questions are those in which the candidates have to mark anyone correct answer out of the available options. In the TITA type of the qiestions, the candidates have to type in the answers in the space, using the virtual keyboard.

– For each section, the candidates get exactly 60 mins
– The candidates cannot switch between the sections unless the time is over
