IIM Kozhikode will close down the Common Admission Test (CAT 2019) registration window tomorrow, September 18, 2019. The registration link will be deactivated at 5 pm. Candidates are thus only left with today’s day, and tomorrow’s time until evening to fill the online form at iimcat.ac.in.
Interestingly, last year also the last date to register for CAT exam was September 18. And on that day, the organizing IIM announced that it was extending the deadline by eight more days, thus making the final last date to be September 26. No more extensions were provided after that. Considering that as of now no, there is no such update about CAT 2019 registration date being extended, candidates are advised to hasten and apply at the earliest.
In order to register, candidates need to go to the website iimcat.ac.in and click on “Register”. Submit name, DOB, email address, country, mobile number to generate OTP. Then login with credentials generated and proceed to fill all details asked for in the application form. In this process, applicant also has to upload scanned photograph of dimension 30 mm by 45 mm that are less than 80 kb, scanned signature of size 80 mm by 35 mm and less than 80 kb.
Under IIM Calcutta, form correction was implemented for the first time in CAT last year. Applicants were allowed to login and re-upload fresh photographs if the previous ones were blurry or improper. For this process, a window was opened from September 27 to September 30.
This time, there is no update on the official website about form correction, or image correction. However as per a recent conversation with the CAT helpdesk, a window to re-upload improper and blurry photographs will be given from September 26, 2019 to September 29, 2019.
This information was provided to a candidate when she asked what steps she can take if she has made a mistake in the application form. As per the email received by the candidate in response to the question, the form correction window, albeit only for images, will be available from 10 am on next Thursday, and close on 5 pm of the last date mentioned.
