The CAT 2019 Application Form will be released on August 7, 2019. Candidates can fill the Application Form from the official website, iimcat.ac.in only. It is suggested that candidates must fill all the details carefully as once the payment is made, as later, no changes will be allowed.

It is important that the candidates are prepared with all the necessary details as soon as the application starts. Therefore here are 8 important points to know to successfully submit the CAT 2019 Application Form:

#1 Applicants must check if they meet the eligibility criteria or not before filling in the CAT Application Form 2019. The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from any institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament. Candidates in their final year of Bachelor’s degree and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can apply as well. However, such candidates will be given a provisional admission which shall be canceled if the conditions are not met.

#2 The Application process will be completed when the applicants have made the Payment successfully. The General/EWS/NC-OBC candidates will be charged Rs.1900 while SC/ST/OBC candidates will be charged Rs.950 to appear for CAT 2019. Candidates will have to choose payment mode from the given option and make the payment. A ‘Payment Successful’ message will appear on the screen along with the Payment Transaction Number.

#3 Applicants must ensure that they have a unique Email address and mobile number. The same email address and mobile number need to be retained until the CAT Admission process is completed. This instruction must be followed as all the official communications will be done using this email address and mobile number.

#4 When the applicants start the registration process, they must take note of their browser. The recommended browsers for the filling of the CAT Application Form 2019 are Internet Explorer (version 11 and above), Mozilla Firefox (version 50 to 61), and Google Chrome (version 50 to 69). Candidates can fill the application form to create their User ID from any of these recommended browsers.

#5 Applicants must upload all the mandatory documents as per their selections. A scanned image of your passport size photograph with dimensions of 30mm X 45mm must be uploaded. A scanned image of your signature should also be uploaded with dimensions of 80mm X 35mm. The format of the document files should be .jpg or .jpeg and the file size should not be more than 80kb each. Make sure that the photo is not more than 6 months old. Applicants will have to download the caste or PWD certificates from CAT website, fill the required information and self-attest, and scan as PDF document to upload in the form.

#6 While filling out the application form, applicants will have to provide an alternate Email address and Emergency mobile number. Make sure that the alternate mobile number is different from the primary mobile number and preferably should belong to a close relative/ acquaintance who can be contacted during the emergency.

#7 Applicants must note that they don’t have to fill in the CAT Application Form 2019 in a single session. They can save their current session to continue it later. They can come back and complete their Application Form by logging in through their login credentials, i.e. User ID and Password. This can be repeated multiple times.

#8 The entries in the form cannot be changed once you have completed the last section, i.e. Payment. Applicants are suggested to fill in all the details carefully in various sections of the Application Form. In doing so you will receive a confirmation mail. After this, changes in any of the details provided on the Application Form will not be possible. After the confirmation mail, applicants can save and download the Application Form and take a print out of the same.
