CAT 2018 slot 2 exam is now over. The exam ended in the scheduled time i.e. at 5:30 PM. As per the analysis and first reaction of the candidates the exam was moderate in overall. The Quantitative Ability was lengthy in slot 2 and was in the difficult end. The Verbal Ability section was the easiest in all.
Like the slot 1 of the CAT 2018 exam analysis, slot 2 analysis says that the exam was overall difficult when compared to last year. In quantitative Ability section logs and maxima-minima questions were in majority. In slot 2 there were overall 100 questions with the same distribution of questions as in slot 1. In VARC there were 27 questions, in DILR there were 24 questions and in Quant there were 22 questions.
Overall as compared to the last year, CAT 2018 exam was difficult. Few of the student expressed their concern after the slot 2 exam was over.
One of the students said that “The Maths part was lengthier and had to sit through a lot over questions. The English part was not too confusing and most questions were “straight-forward”.
CAT 2018 exam was held across 374 centers across 174 cities in online mode. In slot 2, if the candidate attempts 26-30 questions in VARC correctly it is considered good, for DILR this number is 15-16 and in Quantitative Aptitude is 17-18.
The expected cutoff for 99 percentile in CAT 2018 slot 2 exam in VARC is 80+, for DILR is 48+ and for Quantitative Aptitude, it is 50+.
CAT 2018 exam was conducted without any technical glitches. As per the CAT 2018 exam pattern, the exam is conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The paper is divided into three sections such as Quantitative Ability (QA), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC). Candidates have to attempt 100 question in 3 hours (180 minutes).
CAT 2018 answer key will now be available soon. The answer key will be made available officially in the first week of December 2018. using the answer key the candidates will be able to get an estimate of the CAT 2018 score.
The final result of CAT 2018 will be also uploaded by IIM Calcutta on the official website of CAT 2018. Once the result of CAT 2018 is published, candidates who will qualify will be able to participate in the admission process of CAT score accepting B-schools. the selection process of all the B-schools differ. However, the general process includes Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), and Written Ability Test (WAT).
