Common Admission Test(CAT) notification is expected to release on July 29, 2018. The exam conducting body usually releases the CAT notification on last Sunday of the July month. Last year, the notification was released on July 30, 2017(Sunday). So, looking at the past year trends the notification is most likely to release on the coming Sunday. Though on the official website, no dates have been announced yet and it is only written that “Detailed Notification for CAT in July/August 2018“.
The notification will release at the official website of CAT 2018 and also in the national newspapers. CAT aspirants will able to check or download the complete information at iimcat.ac.in. The website still shows the data of CAT 2017, so it is expected that this year exam details will update on July 29.
Until now, we only know the confirmed date of CAT 2018 Exam. The computer-based test will take place on November 25, 2018. When the latest updates on CAT, we will also able to know the if there will be any changes in the exam pattern of CAT. There may be a change in the number of MCQ or Non-MCQ type questions in the exam.

The Registration for CAT 2018 is also expected to start in the second week of August 2018. Aspirants will able to fill the online form only. In this candidates have to register first and then move forward to fill the application form. After the completion of the form, the candidates may get the option to edit the CAT 2018 Application Form.
Through the official notification, we will also able to know the exam date, eligibility criteria, registration fees and other essential details. The eligibility for CAT is most likely to remain same. The most important is that a candidate must have a graduation with minimum 50% of marks. Moreover, there is a relaxation of 5% for SC, ST and PWD categories.
The major change we may see is in the CAT 2018 Registration Fee. The fee is likely to rise by some amount from the last year. It was Rs 1800/- for the unreserved category in CAT 2017. So, we can expect it might rise by Rs 100/- this year. For the reserved category, it may rise by Rs 50/- making a total of Rs 950/- form Rs 850/-.

With the release of notification, we will also able to know the other important CAT 2018 exam dates. We will able to know the starting and end of the registration process, the release of admit card dates, result date etc. It is advisable that candidates do not hurry to fill in the form and do the same correctly before the last date of registration. As allocation of test centers will only take place after the completion of registration process.
This year, we may see the change in the reservation policy for admission 2019-21. The complete details will only available on the website of CAT 2018. The exam conducting body may also change the number of test centers after analyzing a large number of candidates appearing for the exam. Last year, the exam took place in 140 test centers. The exact information for CAT 2018 test centers will be available by the third week of October 2018.
