This time once again Canara Bank has come with a good amount of vacancies for the post of Probationary Officer. On October 23, 2018, Canara Bank has released the notification for the recruitment of PO for 800 vacancies, on its official website canarabank.com.
Along with the announcement of Canara Bank PO recruitment the application window also made opened on the same day. The online window will be activated till November 13, 2018. The candidates can access the online application form on the official website of bank. Candidates can take the print out of the duly filled application form till November 28, 2018.
Do not forget to scan photograph and signature prior to fill out the form.
It is a good idea to scan the passport size photograph and signature in advance. This could save time and hazards as well.
The dimension of the photograph and signature should be 4.5cm × 3.5cm and 140 x 60 pixels respectively.
The application fee for Canara Bank PO differs as per category of the candidate. According to the bank, the candidates of SC/ST/PWD category have to pay Rs. 118/- and others have to pay Rs. 708/-. Here the application fee includes GST as well. Apart from that, the application fee is non – refundable. The mode of submitting application form and fee is online.
The recruitment for the candidates will be done through the online examination which will hold on December 23, 2018. For appearing in the examination the candidates will be issued the admit card on December 05, 2018. Only those candidates will able to download the admit card who will apply before the deadline. For each stage of examination, the bank will issue the admit card separately.
Selection Procedure
The selection procedure of the Probationary Officer comprises 02 hours online examination followed by Group Exercises and Interview. The questions related to reasoning, quantitative aptitude, English language, and general awareness will be asked in exam. There will be 200 multiple choice questions of 200 marks. The candidates will have to bear the deduction 0.25 of marks on each wrongly marked answer.
The candidates have to score beyond the decided cut off marks in each section of the online examination. The Bank will decide the section wise cut off marks and cut off marks for Group Excercise and interview separately.
Bank has chosen 189 cities as the center of examination. This is to make the candidates comfortable before the exam. So that they have not travel too much at the time of the exam.
The candidates should know that this exam leads the admission to the Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance (PGDBF). The diploma course is of 12 months, which includes academics on 09 months and 03 month internship. On successful completion of the course, the candidates have will be placed as the probationary officer in the branches of Canara Bank.
After selection, the candidates have to serve the Bank for at least 05 years. At the time of joining the candidates have to sign the security bond. On the violation of the bond by the candidates, the candidate has to compensate the bank by paying Rs. 10 Lakhs + applicable taxes.
