Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), or the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has published a notification for recruitment to the post of Junior Engineers. As per the same, BMC JE recruitment 2019 is hereby announced for 341 vacancies.
There are 243 vacancies for junior engineer-civil, and 98 for junior engineer-mechanical / electrical. A short notification in Marathi has been published in leading dailies of the state, highlighting the vacancy distribution, eligibility criteria for each post, and reservation.
BMC JE recruitment 2019 online application form will be available at the website portal.mcgm.gov.in. The job location through this recruitment shall be in Mumbai. Registration start and end dates shall be available on the website shortly.
Government job aspirants in Maharashtra, who are upto 38 years old can apply for the posts. Reserved category candidates upto 43 years of age can also apply. He or she should have completed at least class 10th, followed by a diploma in engineering. The specific branches of diploma in engineering, from which candidates can apply, are elaborated in the notification.
A few of the branches for JE civil are civil, construction technology, public health engineering. That for JE electrical / mechanical are electrical, automobile, electronics, production, electrical power system, industrial electronics and communication.
It is further required that candidates should have 50% in class 10th, or if they belong to reserved category then they should have 45% at least. Likewise in diploma, they should have 50%, or 45% in respective categories.
Whereas the short notification only throws light on the vacancy details and few important facts, details of recruitment process, how to apply, fees, exam pattern and syllabus if any, merit list formation, shall be intimated via the website with the application form. Job aspirants may go through all details before applying, and also stay in touch with the MCGM portal to get updates on exam date, hall ticket, result.
For all BMC recruitment, the corporation publishes details on the recruitment page of portal.mcgm.gov.in. Initially an advertisement or notification is published. Then exam call letter and information handout are published either for each post, or as a combined one. After exam, results and selection lists for each post are released.
Although all advertisements are published in Marathi, the portal has details in English. The recruitments that were held last year, at least a few, had primarily offline forms that were in Marathi. However the BMC sub engineer recruitment or which applications were invited in December last year, had an online application form for 291 vacancies.
The BMC was founded in the year 1888. It was initially Bombay Municipal Corporation. The governing civic body of Mumbai, it is reportedly the richest municipal corporation in India.
