Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, has released information brochure and application form for BITSAT 2019. Both has been issued on the official website of the exam, bitsadmission.com, on January 04, 2019. This year, BITS Admission Test-2019 will be held from May 16 to 26, 2019. It will be held in 33 cities, across India and in Dubai.
Interested candidates can apply for BITSAT 2019 from January 04 to March 20, 2018. Forms are only available online, as BITS Pilani does not release or accept offline applications. In order to apply for BITSAT, candidates need to visit bitsadmission.com. There, candidates will get a link for “CLICK HERE to apply online”, access it register for BITSAT 2019.
However, do check the eligibility criteria before applying. Candidates are only eligible for the exam if they have qualified 10+2, with minimum of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths / Biology. The marks of candidates in each subject should be above 60%. National and state Board topper need not appear for the exam, they get direct admission in BITS. It should be noted that candidates appearing for 10+2 exam in 2019 may also apply.
To register, candidates need to enter personal details like name, gender, date of birth, e-mail id, mobile number, and password. Following registration, the application form of BITSAT will open and candidates will have to fill the other required information in it.
BITSAT 2019 application fee has increased by Rs. 200. Last year, the amount of application fee for male candidates was Rs. 2950. However, this year, it has increased to Rs. 3150. The fee amount for female candidates has also increased from Rs. 2450 to Rs. 2650. It is mandatory for the candidates to pay the application fee and it can only be submitted via Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or from ICICI challan.
BITSAT 2019 is an annual exam, which is conducted for admission in B.E, B.Pharm, M.Sc courses. The qualifying candidates of BITSAT get admission in BITS Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campus. The admission process for BITS Dubai is completely different.
The level of BITSAT is a bit high. Candidates get 150 questions on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology, and English. These questions are of multiple choice type (MCQ) and candidates have to solve it in 3 hours. The level of the questions will be that of CBSE class 11 and 12.
Those who attempt all the questions before the lapse of time duration, get extra 12 questions. These 4 questions will be from each section. Each question will be of 3 marks. However, candidates should be careful while solving the paper because for incorrect answers, negative marking of 1 mark will be done.
