National Testing Agency (NTA) issued a public notice on March 15, 2021, pertaining to the rescheduling of the Assam Olympiad 2021 Examination. According to the public notice, the exam has been rescheduled from March 21 to April 11, 2021. This decision was taken considering the Assam Legislative Assembly Elections scheduled in the last week of March 2021. The state-level Olympiad examination shall be conducted in two sessions – the morning session from 8:30 am to 11:30 am and the afternoon session from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
Authorities issued a press notice on March 15, 2021, on the official website nta.ac.in announcing the postponement of the Assam Olympiad 2021 examination. Previously, the exam was scheduled for March 21, 2021, across the state. However, the agency shall not be conducting the exam in March, due to the government plans of holding the Assam Legislative Assembly elections the last week of March 2021.
The public notice also stated the timings and the exam schedule for conducting the state-level Olympiad examination. The exam shall be conducted in two sessions. The morning session shall be held from 8:30 am to 11:30 am whereas the afternoon session shall be conducted from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
Students of Class 6, 7, 8 and 9 shall appear for the Olympiad examination during the morning session. Class 10, 11 and 12 students shall be appearing for the same during the afternoon session. NTA also assured that all other terms and conditions of the examination shall remain as stated in the information bulletin.
Assam Olympiad 2021 shall be conducted in offline mode through the pen-and-paper format despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The exam shall be of three hours duration for all students and shall comprise of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
NTA has not announced any changes in the syllabus of the examination. Thus, it shall remain the same depending on the class in which the student is currently studying. Moreover, the syllabus shall also be following the Assam Higher Secondary Council and Elementary Education.
This year, the question paper shall be in different languages including Assamese, Bengali, Bodo and English. Candidates shall receive the question paper in the bilingual format with one language being English and the other language being the one that the candidate has opted. In case of any ambiguity or lack of clarity in the translation of the question, the English version shall be considered as the final version. Moreover, the decision in such cases solely lies with the NTA.
Assam Olympiad 2021 is scheduled to be conducted on April 11, 2021, across the state. Students from classes 6-12 are going to appear for the examination through the offline mode. Results for the same shall be declared subsequently. However, the official date for declaring the results is yet to be announced by NTA.
