Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) is all set to organize Assam Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exams. The Assam board exams are expected to take place between August 01, 2021, to August 15, 2021. However, definite exam dates for the Assam Board Exam 2021 is not yet disclosed by the Council as State Health Department has refused to give a nod to conduct the exams before July. By the time the final decision is made in this regard, know important exam details revealed as of now below.
Assam Board Exam 2021 Dates
On June 08, 2021, State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu chaired a high-level meeting with various stakeholders of the Assam Secretariat. In this meeting, the Education Ministry has asked suggestions on the Assam Board Exam dates. The State Health Department has not agreed on conducting Assam Board Exam 2021 before July. On this Pegu has said that “If we need to complete the entire process before September 15, 2021 and wait till July end, the window period to organize Board Exam is August 01 to 15, 2021.” It is indicated that most probably the exam will be organized during this period. To this, he further added that the modality and timetable will be published soon.
New Method to Be Introduced for Assam Board
In the meeting, the State Education Minister also discussed that this year the State Board exam won’t take place in a conventional manner. The Board is mulling to organize Assam Board Exam with fewer subjects and the total marks will be curtailed.
Allotment of Marks
As the modalities and method are not released yet, speculations are made that the exams will take place with 03 subjects only through an offline mode. Stakeholders have suggested that the marks in the subjects to be left out will be based on the performance in the papers attempted for the student.
Expected Date for Assam Board Exam Time Table 2021
The complete timetable, modalities and other instructions are expected to be released soon. “As the decision on Assam State Board Exam is in the final stage, the final decision will be announced within 10 days, “ said Ranoj Pegu to media after the meeting with senior government officials, representative of student bodies and teachers’ organization.
Allocation of Assam Board Centres
Education Minister has also discussed the allocation of test centre of candidates. As per the sources, the Board will consider the flood situation of the state before allowing a centre for the candidate. He added, “We have identified enough test centres that are outside flood-prone area where exam can be held seamlessly”. As the exam COVID-19 cases are decreasing, the State Board is hopeful to conduct the exam with protocols.
Prioritized Vaccination of Teachers and Other Officials
As the Board exam will take place amidst COVID-19, the State Government has announced that Teachers and other officials involved in the exam duties will be vaccinated on a priority basis. Vaccination of Class 10th and Class 12th Students won’t be possible because of their age (below 18 years). However, “Starting from exam invigilators, everyone involved in the exam process and are above 18 years will be vaccinated on a priority basis.” said the State Education Minister. This also includes the drivers and other people to be involved in the exam.
