APSET 2019 Online Application Form

As promised during a press conference earlier this month, Andhra University has published the notification for APSET 2019. The state level eligibility test for recruitment and promotion of Lecturers / Assistant Professors has been scheduled to be held on October 20, 2019.

APSET 2019 online application form will be made available on the official website apset.net.in from August 5, 2019, through October 3, 2019. However it is pertinent to note that in this duration candidates can apply “without late fee” only upto September 11, 2019. After that and until September 19, 2019, an additional late fee of Rs 1000 shall apply. Then from a day after and upto September 26, 2019, late fee will be of Rs 2000. Last window for online form filling shall be until October 3, 2019 with late fee of Rs 5000.

The normal registration fee, that is not including any late fee, is Rs 1200 for general category, Rs 1000 for BC category, and Rs 700 for SC, ST, PWD categories.

Official websites for the purpose of all notifications and information on APSET 2019 are andhrauniversity.edu.in and apet.net.in. Candidates are advised to apply early, without late fee.

The state eligibility test will have two papers namely paper I and paper II. The first one will comprise of 50 questions of 100 marks. It will be the same for all candidates. Whereas the second one will have 100 questions of 200 marks, and it will be different for each subject.

There are 30 subjects for paper II. While filling the application form, candidates are required to select subject in which they will appear in exam. The subject chosen should be either same as their subject of postgraduation, or similar. However it is important to point out that if SET or NET has been passed previously in the same subject by the candidate, then that subject should not be chosen again.

Changes In APSET 2019

There are three notable changes in the APSET.

First is the introduction of a new subject namely Visual Arts. Subject “Code 30”, visual arts is a new introduction in the subjects of Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test.

Its syllabus comprises of 10 units that include fundamentals of visual art, forms of visual arts and inter-relationship, traditional mediums, modern techniques, Indian and Western aesthetics and art appreciation, prehistory to post-modern art and artists in India and West, contemporary practices, art in Asia, visual practices (candidates are recommended to get the complete syllabus from apset.net.in). Plus, there are five electives namely Art History, Drawing and Painting, Applied Art, Printmaking (Graphic Art), Sculpture.

The second change is in the eligibility criteria. Last it war so that candidates who are pursuing PG should complete it within one (1) year of SET results. Now it is such that pursuing candidates need to complete the course within two (2) years of APSET results.

Third change is in the fee amount. Application fee this year is Rs 200 more than what it was last time.
