The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), Vijayawada has released a notification to fill up the posts of Assistant Engineers (AE) in various engineering sub services. Interested candidates can submit online applications from October 21, 2021 up to November 11, 2021. A total of 35 carried forward vacancies and 155 fresh vacancies are going to be filled up through this recruitment drive. The pay scale for these vacancies is between Rs 31,460 and Rs 84,970.
The notification can be downloaded from the official APPSC website – psc.ap.gov.in. For that, visit the website and head straight to the ‘Announcements’ section in the centre of the screen. Press the ‘Click Here’ button on the notification for the post of assistant engineers in various engineering sub services. Download and save the same. Candidates who will be applying for the first time have to fill up their bio-data particulars through One Time Profile Registration (OTPR). Post successful registration, a user ID will be generated to the registered mobile number and email address. Please fill up the application form carefully. Changes in certain data will be allowed at the payment of Rs 100 for each correction.
Candidates will be selected based on a written examination that will be conducted in a computer-based recruitment test mode. The dates for the examination will be announced in due time. Every post has different educational qualification requirements, details about which are given in the official notification. In terms of age requirement, candidates must be of minimum 18 and maximum 42 years. Those candidates below 18 and above 42 years will not be eligible to apply. SC, ST, BCs and EWS category candidates will enjoy a 5-year age relaxation while the same for physically handicapped candidates is 10 years.
As per the preferences, applicants will be able to choose their test centres. The application processing fee for the APPSC AE 2021 examination is Rs 250 and that for examination fee is Rs 80. The examination will comprise of three papers. Paper-1 will cover General Studies & Mental Ability while Paper-2 will be on Civil/Mechanical (Diploma Standard). Similarly, the last paper or Paper-3 will cover Environmental Engineering/Civil. Detailed syllabus for each paper is available on the official notification.
Each paper will have 150 questions having maximum marks of 150. There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd of the mark allotted for a particular question. The minimum qualifying marks for the vacancies under Open Competition and EWS is 40%, Backward Class is 35% and SCs, STs and OBCs is 30%.
