The first time ever online Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test
(EMACET) for Andhra Pradesh state was held from April 24 to 28, 2017. JNTU Kakinada conducted the examination in 14 districts of AP. More than 1.4 lakh candidates appeared for the AP EAMCET 2017 examination in hopes to secure seats in Engineering or Agriculture courses offered by the college and universities of the Andhra Pradesh state.
The marks and rank of the candidates were announced online, and results were also sent to the mobile phones of the students. The students who appeared for the examination can now check their AP EAMCET Result online from the official website. In order to view your result, you need to enter your Hall Ticket number.
The merit of the candidates has been prepared by normalizing the AP EAMCET score of the candidates. The conducting body adopted the normalization mechanism to ensure that the level of difficult in all the slots is the same and no candidate is at loss due to the varying difficulty level.
AP EAMCET ranks / merit is only allocated to those candidates who have scored more than 25% marks in the exam. However, for determining the merit, the marks of the qualifying exam have also been used.
- 75% weightage is given to the score of the EAMCET
- 25% weightage is given to the score of qualifying marks
There are 17 government and 305 private colleges in the state which offer engineering admission. The total intake of seats in these colleges is 1,57,000. These seats to the qualified students will be offered through AP EAMCET 2017 Counselling on the basis of merit position in the exam.
Out of the total, 1,23,974 students have qualified the examination. The pass percentage of the candidates this year has been 79.75. The topper of the exam this year is V Mohan Abhyasa, who has secured 153.93 marks. The second in the race is A Satyam who just missed by a mark by scoring 153.93.
The topper of Agriculture exam is Utukuru Venkata Animesh, who stood first among 69683 aspirants. In the Agriculture exam, total 55289 students passed.
