The Andhra Pradesh state government has reportedly postponed the Class 10 (SSC) Board exams with a decision to review the situations in July 2021. The AP SSC 2021 exams were earlier scheduled to be held from June 07, 2021, to June 16, 2021. On the other hand, state education minister Audimulapu Suresh has discussed the steps to conduct the Class 12 (Inter) board exams during a high profile meeting of Union and State Ministers held earlier this week.
As per the latest media reports, the Andhra government has responded to a petition filed in the High Court regarding cancellation or postponement of the Class 10 exams this year. The petition was filed by a group of teacher, students and parents as it is highly undesirable to conduct the exam amidst the current situations of COVID-10 pandemic in India.
It is being reported that the Andhra Pradesh state government was adamant about conducting the Class 10 (SSC) 2021 board exams as per the regular schedule earlier. The state education board had also reportedly released the admit cards to appear in the exam in April 2021. However, as per reports, when the petition was heard in court, the state government reportedly changed their earlier stance and has now declared that the exams has been postponed till further orders. The state government has announced that a review of the situations will be done in July 2021 following which, a decision may be taken in regard to conducting the Class 10 (SSC) board exams in 2021.
As per reports, following the government’s decision to postpone the exams as of now, the High Court adjourned the hearing till June 18, 2021. It may be noted that the state education minister announced earlier that the exam centres for conducting the SSC exams this year are being enlisted. Furthermore, he also indicated that the government is not leaving any stones unturned in assigning investigators and printing the question paper so that the exams can be conducted in a smooth manner. As per reports, the SSC exams were scheduled to start from the first week of June 2021. However, the examination stands postponed now as per the latest reports.
It may be noted that the government has reduced the syllabus of the SSC exams and instead of 11 papers, the exam is set to be conducted for 07 papers this year.
AP government also postponed the Class 12 (Inter) 1st and 2nd year exams earlier and announced that revised dates will be released afterwards. A decision is still pending regarding the conduct of the Inter exam although, it was reported that the state education minister has discussed this matter in a high profile meeting involving state and central ministers as well as other stakeholders from the education sector.
