Every year Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University conducts UPSEE, an entrance exam for first year and second year admissions. Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination determines merit for admission to first year of B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Pharm, BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, MBA, MCA and second year of B.Tech, B.Pharm, MCA. The exam is taken by multifold students. First agenda to take care of is UPSEE 2018 exam date, which has hereby being informed.
UPSEE 2018 will be held on three days. Entrance exam for undergraduate engineering and management programs has been scheduled on April 15, 2018. Entrance exams for postgraduate programs will be on April 21 and 22, 2018.
A news report published today states AKTU Registrar OP Rai announcing exam dates. The same report goes on to state that exam date of UPSEE 2018 is being announced right now so that affiliated institutes get informed about it and they can hold their semester exams with entrance exam dates in mind. UPSEE 2018 application form issuance dates and other details of entrance exam will be announced after next academic meet. AKTU is yet to publish an official notice with these dates.
Last year the application form was released on January 18 and ended on February 28. Entrance exam dates were April 16, 22, 23. Since the exam date is closely similar this time (on both years exam is on third Sunday, and fourth Saturday and Sunday), dates for application form availability are also expected to be similar. Therefore students looking forward to appear in UP State Entrance Exam in April may expect registration to begin in mid-January.
Around 1.5 lakh students apply for UPSEE engineering entrance exam every year. Overall applicants, combining all courses, is usually around 3 lakhs.
It is true that UPSEE is one of the most biggest common entrance exams in India. Responsibility of handling this herculean task is handed over to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (APJAKTU) also known as AKTU. Until a few years ago, this university was UPTU (Uttar Pradesh Technical University). Since students are more familiar with names, old and new, of conducting body, this exam is often known as AKTU SEE or UPTU SEE.
Students who either have or do not have domicile of UP can both appear in this entrance exam, subject to fulfilment of certain eligibility conditions. It is wiser to check eligibility criteria first and then apply.
It is likely that Aadhaar would be a necessity to register.
Therefore candidates looking forward to UPSEE should enrol for Aadhaar if they do not already have one. The exam conducting body will conduct the exam, release its answer keys, and declare results. It is expected that result announcement will be done by end of May. Last year result was announced on May 30.
It is relevant to note that UP State Govt order has established cut off for UPSEE. Cut off marks are 25% for all candidates, except SC/ST for whom cut off is 20%.
