NEET 2021

The Kerala State Government has decided not to scrap the Kerala Plus One Exam 2021 (Class 11 exams of the Kerala State Board) this year. In response to petitions submitted to the Supreme Court against the conduct of offline Kerala Plus One exams 2021 amidst the pandemic, the Kerala State Government, represented by Advocate G Prakash in the top court hearing has informed the court earlier this Tuesday that the government will conduct the Plus One exams this year in view of the future of the students.

Kerala state government initially postponed the Class 11 exams this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, as per latest reports, the Class 11 finals, or more popularly known as the Kerala Plus One Exams 2021 are now scheduled to be held over a period of 10 days in September 2021. As per reports, the Kerala Plus One Exams 2021 are scheduled to start on September 06, 2021 and end on September 16, 2021.

The Supreme Court was hearing pleas against the Kerala State Government’s decision to conduct offline Class 11 final exams this year, amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. In response, the state government has submitted an affidavit to the apex court in favour of conducting the exams this year. As per reports, the Kerala State Government has informed the Supreme Court on Tuesday this week that it will be conducting the Class 11 final exams. The exam dates have already been decided by the Kerala government and as per reports, complete details of how the exams will be conducted are already available on the website dhsekerala.gov.in.

As per reports, the top court denied an extension of one week’s time for the Kerala State Government to arrive at an informed decision regarding the fate of the Class 11 exams of the state education board. Instead, the court ordered the standing counsel Advocate G Prakash to present the information on the same day of the hearing regarding the state government’s stance on conducting the Class 11 exams this year amidst the pandemic. The state government informed the SC that it is imperative to conduct the Class 11 exams since the Plus One marks are considered for qualifying marks. As such, the exams cannot be cancelled without affecting the future of the students.

Kerala State Government has also informed the top court that the state education board has successfully conducted the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams this year by following all Covid-19 guidelines in the month of April 2021. The government has assured that similar safety measures will be adopted and followed for conducting the Class 11 exams amidst the pandemic. As per reports, the Kerala State Government has proposed the exam to be held in September 2021 based on the portion of classes that has been covered through online teaching.
