The Indian Air Force is conducting Air Force Common Admission Test on August 27, 2017. It is primarily an exam to determine merit for joining IAF as commissioned officers in ground duty, technical and non-technical. Through AFCAT 02/2017, batches commencing in July 2018 will be filled. The paper is of two hours consisting of questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness and military aptitude.
With a day to go for the exam of this importance, candidates across the country are sweating it out. Last minute preparation is of immense importance. What to do and what not do must be clearly understood. To make it all easier, here are all the last minute tips for AFCAT 02/2017.
First of all, have your documents ready. Of utmost is the AFCAT admit card 2017 which was released in July. It can still be downloaded from careerairforce.nic.in. Email or username and password are the two credentials required to login to download admit card. It contains candidate details and AFCAT centre details. If the center address is not given in admit card then it is mailed by IAF to candidate on their email IDs. Apart from this, a few other ID related documents are also required.
Be prepared to reach exam center. Some of you may have a center which you are unaware of, where it is and how to reach it. So a wise thing to do in such a case is to visit center a day prior to exam and check how much time it takes which route to take.
Brush up math formulae. Numerical ability is a scoring section that depends on practice, however, remembering crucial formulae while solving paper is also important. If you have all formulae in one place based on AFCAT syllabus, then go through them.
Check up on GK events. Instead of cramming GK events for AFCAT, revise them methodically. Students prefer their own methodologies to remember facts and figures, so whichever method you prefer to remember GK, do that on last day also.
Revise antonyms and synonyms. If you have a strong grasp of the English language then this would require least time. The best way to do this is to read words in sentences to understand their meaning and then do synonyms antonyms.
Solve practice paper or previous year question papers if you get time. The purpose of solving AFCAT papers is to get a feel of the exam as it mirrors actual. You also get to time yourself so that on exam day you can attempt complete paper. However, if time is less, you can choose to revise topics.
We are sure you will do excellently in the AFCAT exam. Stay focused and believe in yourself. You can later on check answer key of AFCAT 02/2017 to know how well you did and estimate score. Take a look at past year cut offs to get an idea of the minimum marks required to clear AFCAT.
