On December 01, 2018, the Indian Air Force will release the AFCAT 2019 Notification at afcat.cdac.in. The application process of Air Force Common Admission Test will start after the publication of notification. The application form will be available on the official website.
The AFCAT 01/2019 will grant the admission, to the candidates in any one of the entries i.e. AFCAT, NCC, and Meteorology in Short Service Commission, Permanent Commission, Flying Branch, Ground Duty in Technical and Non – Technical branches. While filling the application form the candidates have to choose the entry, but he/she will be assigned the Commission as per their eligibility.
For flying Branch the IAF demand the candidates from the age group of 20 to 24 years with the graduation. Whereas for gaining entry through the Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches, the candidates of age group 20 to 26 years and having the graduation/post graduation degree are eligible.
IAF doesn’t provide any relaxation to any particular Community, However, the candidates who possess the Commercial Pilot Licence approved by DGCA (India), they will be provided the age relaxation of two years.
The application fee for AFCAT 2019 will be Rs. 250/- for all the candidate, except for Meteorology entry. The candidates who will choose the metrology entry have not to pay any application fee. The mode of payment is online, candidates can use the Credit Card/ Debit card/ Net Banking Details etc to make the payment.
Before filling the application form, the candidates should check the eligibility of AFCAT 2019 including physical standard laid by IAF.
On completion of the application process, the candidates will be issued the admit card for the AFCAT & Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) on the official website. The candidates have to appear in the online test (AFCAT), and some of them who will be pursuing or pursued Engineering have to appear in EKT.
AFCAT belong to general knowledge and EKT is based on the engineering-based knowledge. So there will be questions related to General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude Test in AFCAT, and Engineering stream related question in EKT. The duration of AFCAT is 02 hour, while the EKT have to be completed in 45 minutes.
After cracking the AFCAT the candidates have to appear in Air Force Selection Board interview. The final selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of the marks obtained in AFCAT and interview.
