JEE Main 2019 April exam is less than a month away and the admit card for the exam is releasing on March 20, 2019. The exact dates for the exam are to be announced a few days after NTA ends the application form correction facility on March 15, 2019.
As per the reports, 6.69 lakh candidates who have already appeared for January examination, are reappearing in the April exam to improve their scores. This means, 70% of the registered candidates who have also appeared in JEE Main 2019 January exam, have registered for the April exam too.
For the April exam, almost 9.54 Lakh candidates have applied. In the January exam, the number of registered candidates was 9.3 lakhs. Thus, in the April session, the number of registrations has increased.
There are 3.1 lakh new registrations for the April examination. In addition to that, there are 11 transgenders who have applied for the April exam, while in the January exam 5 transgender have registered.
Also, the reports say that most of the registration are form the state of Maharashtra. About 1.1. lakh registered candidates are from the state of Maharashtra alone. From Uttar Pradesh over 97,000 registrations have been received. From Andhra Pradesh, there are over 88,000 registrations and from Telangana, there are 72,000.
Talking about the other states, there are 40,000 total registrations. This includes Gujarat with 41,367 registrations, Karnataka having 51,075 candidates registering for the exam, Kerala with 43,630 registrations, Madhya Pradesh with 47,472 registrations, from Rajasthan 52,526 registrations and from Tamil Nadu 48,295 registrations.
Now the at the registrations are over, NTA is going to allot the JEE Main 2019 April exam centre, shift and date to all the registered candidates. The allotted dates will be between April 07 – 20, 2019. The exam is being held twice form 2019 and in online mode only.
The application form correction process is now going on. The candidates who have registered for the April and January exam as well can change details in the form. In addition to that, candidates can also claim the EWS quota. To do so the candidates have to log in using their application number and password and make changes in the form.
There are additional charges for certain corrections like changing the exam paper choice, changing gender or category. However, the candidates won’t be able to change the exam city choices in the form.
The AIR of the JEE Main exam will be based on best percentile of the candidates out of both the attempts. In the January exam, a total of 8,816 candidates were placed in the 99-100 percentile. The 6.69 lakh candidates who are reappearing in the April exam will have their names in the AIR as per their best percentile score pot of both April and January exam.
