300 New MBBS Seats In Himachal Pradesh; Inception Of New Medical Colleges

In the latest tweet, the Union Minister of Health and Family Affair, Mr. Jagta Prakash Nadda has announced the increase in the number of MBBS seats in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The announcement has brought cheer to students who are aspiring to take admission in 5 Years MBBS Programmes.

In the proposed scheme the number of seats in the state will increase by 300. Currently, there are 750 seats for the admission in this course. The increase in the number of seats will definitely help the students to secure a seat to fulfill their dream.

The central government has played a crucial role to accelerate the process of increasing the seat intake capacity of medical colleges in Himachal Pradesh. The government has released the funds of Rs 332.51 Crore to establish three medical colleges. Following it, Rs 163 Crore will also release in the current financial year. Right now, the project is in initial stage only but once it picks the pace, the colleges will be ready to offer seats to the MBBS aspirants.

To build the colleges, three locations have been identified so far. With the much planning and groundwork, Chamba, Hamirpur, and Nahan are selected to start the project of three new medical colleges. Moreover, the Himachal Pradesh is the first Indian state to have all approved functional medical colleges.

Looking at the speed of the project, a new medical college has been inaugurated in the Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. The Union Minister of Health and Family Affair has recently inaugurated Dr. Radha Krishnan Medical College and laid the foundation if new block. In future, we can expect the foundation ceremony for other colleges will take place soon.

The admission in MBBS programme is done through National Eligibility Entrance Test-UG. Candidates have to qualify this national level to compete in next level of the selection process. Moreover, Himachal Pradesh MBBS Admissions are managed by Himachal Pradesh University. After qualifying the exam the state counseling will take place according to the rank of students.

Students aspiring to take admission in the state must have Himachal Pradesh state domicile. It is also necessary to become eligible for the state quota admission for MBBS/ BDS courses of the state. The forms for the program releases in online mode only at the official website of the H.P. University. The state also has very comprehensive eligibility criteria. So, candidates must read the criteria carefully to be eligible for the course. Most importantly, a candidate must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English separately in +2 examinations.
